OOTD: Bottle Green

A few weeks ago I mentioned I was building up a corporate wardrobe for work. Part of my list of things to get were a few cocktail dresses which I could use for evening events which we host. I'm already looking into a black one, but when I stumbled on this bottle green velvet beauty from Modcloth, I fell in love at once.

Here I'm wearing it with a black shawl (vintage), black heeled Mary Janes (thrifted), gold jewelry (assorted), and a black camisole underneath. For work I will probably go for a higher camisole so the entire ensemble is less cleavage-heavy and a thick cuff bracelet to cover my wrist tattoo, but for a test run I thought this suited perfectly.

From behind, a few of the shawl (and my uneven hair.)

Close up of the draping at the neckline.
Stay tuned for more corporate OOTDs as I begin assembling my wardrobe.

    1. Thank you! That's a relief. I find that, as a larger busted person, it's way too easy for anything I wear to be super cleavage-heavy and so seem inappropriate, so this was a great find.

  3. Love the shawl, where is it from? That fringe it absolutely perfect!

  4. Oh wow this dress is stunning. You look fab in green- and the cut is to die for.

Good luck on your corporate wear shopping hunts. I'm so so happy for you (and really jealous =P) that you've got such an amazing opportunity straight out of college - just shows how your hard work has paid off!

    1. Thank you! I feel so incredibly blessed to have such an opportunity, it feels pretty surreal, but I'm determined to make the best of it.

  5. I adore this dress on you, the colour suits you terribly well. You look like someone I'd enjoy as a psychic character in a vintage-setting TV show.
