Plans for 2016

Despite last year's resolutions being a rather dismal failure, I love the idea of new years resolutions. Maybe it's the INTJ in me but having a plan for the year is something I'm very invested in.

Blog

  • Once again I am committing to a twice-a-week schedule for posting, every Wednesday and Saturday. I have built up a backlog of a few posts to hold me over if I can't post again.
  • Finish up the FAQ that I started.
  • Make more appearances on radio! I did two shows this past year, it was fun for me.
  • Keep up my use of Instagram and Twitter.
  • Revamp more old posts! Some of them just need new pictures and better wording.
  • Respond to comments more consistently, and comment on other people's posts as I read them.
Fashion
  • Incorporate more color into my closet. Sacrilege, I know, but I think I need a red dress.
  • Find a new black holy grail eyeliner. Liquid, long-lasting, non-flaking, jet black. Any recommendations?
  • Knit myself something. I did learn to knit last year, another one of my achievements, but I never made anything I would want to wear and keep. This year I have some lovely red and black yarn and a few cool patterns to try out.
  • Take more selfies and outfit shots! 2015 was a terrible year for selfies, which I do love taking, so I need to try for more this year.
Personal
  • Graduate! I'm set to graduate college in May of 2016. If all goes well, which I hope it will. Then the job hunt begins.
  • Continue to practice my French using Duolingo and a few other programs and read another novel in French.
  • Once again I will be taking on the Goodreads challenge and reading 52 books this year. I love art, history, and historical fiction, so if you want to see what I'm reading, recommend books to me, or track your own progress, add me here!

What are your plans for the new year?

    1. Have you tried Duolingo? It's my current method and I'm very fond of it.

  2. Some very good goals, I hope that you're able to achieve each and every one. =)

Black liquid liner? Hard Candy has a fairly good one, though the brush is an actual brush, and for me that means having to redo the line many times lol. My favorite has been Annabelle's black out, which is a Canadian brand and have to rely on my family to get it to me, heh...

    1. Thank you kindly!

It seems like every good liner is only available in Canada or the UK. How frustrating. I'll have to look into the Hard Candy one!

  3. When were you on the radio?? Is there somewhere we can hear that?

  4. Have you tried Kat von D Tattoo Liner? So far that has been the best for me. And frankly I have learned that I cannot live without primer - nothing sticks without it, and it makes the difference between having eyeliner still in place at 2pm and having oily smudgy black stuff all over my eyes .

  5. I've been using Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes. It's a felt tip liner, but the tip is soft enough to feel like you're using a brush and not a marker. I believe it's waterproof too, so it has some serious staying power.

  6. I love Illamasqua Precision Ink - the black is great but they also do a beautiful very dark red called Havoc which is currently on sale (good, because it costs a BOMB). Though they are UK based which may be a problem?

Best of luck with your goals.

  7. Duolingo is such a wonderful app to learn languages - I'm learning French too. I sometimes listen to a French News radio online called France Info. Mainly to help with listening and trying to condition my brain to understand words and sentences without having to think and translate as I go.
