I received an e-mail from viewer recently asking me how I handled my """goth""" hair and what advice I had to pass on to someone looking to goth-up their look. Unfortunately, my approach to Goth hair ends at dyeing it black and putting it up in a bun (I'm very finnicky about hair resting on the back of my neck) so I didn't have much to offer. But what I can do is make a playlist and share it so that I can pass on good advice from people who actually know what they're talking about!
What hair advice do you have?
I'm just happy people are still doing mohawks somewhere.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous playlist! I have two bits of useful advice regarding gothy hair:
ReplyDeleteOne- if you are teasing your hair into a giant puffball, it's easier to work from the back to the front in sections, holding the bits you haven't teased yet out of the way with a clip.
Two- If you're going to bleach your hair, make sure it's really greasy. When I bleach the white bit of my hair it's usually got about a weeks worth of grease in it and that has helped keep damage to a minimum. A weeks worth of grease and hairspray also makes your hair tease easier, and helps your giant trad-goth fluff ball stay up! (If you do this you'll want to wash your hairbrushes with shampoo about once a month. The gunk builds up on them pretty fast.)
Love your blog!
