Maybe I'm just a sucker for replacing traditional laces with pretty bows, but these shoes really appeal to me. like patent shoes (even if I'm never, ever able to keep them from scuffing) and the boot dispenses with the yellow contrast stitching that I don't like in regular docs.
I like these boots because they have a little bit of New Rock-like flair without being as clunky as I think New Rocks usually are. The buckles and straps add a nice touch to otherwise plain footwear.
When I saw these boots I couldn't decide if I like them or not, but I think I've pretty much decided that they're Rocky Horror Show-tacky in the best possible way.
Yes, the boots based off of one of my favorite paintings ever: The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymous Bosch. I saw the painting for the first time in my Art History 101 class and even have a poste of it now. How could I not love it, though? If you need a proper picture, here's a good high-resolution one.
