Goth Dorm 3.0

Yep, two years of college, two schools, three dorm rooms. I moved back to school on Saturday and classes actually start today (!!!) so I thought I'd give a glimpse at my dorm room. This year it's bigger than last year and I'm sharing it with a good friend, so I think I'm set up to have a good year dorm wise:

Starting at my half of the door, which still needs some work. The bunny was actually our name tag given by our floor CAs, which I gothed up with piercings, eyeliner, fangs, and fishnets. Because I would.

Moving over to my corner:

On my desk, where I spend a lot of time (willingly and begrudgingly.) Note my freaking awesome print by Evil Supply Co, available for purchase here.

I brought a few books to read over the course of the semester, so look for them on my Goodreads in the next few months.

Okay this is silly but I'm in love with my jar of writing utensils. It has a lot of calligraphy pens as well as normal pens, dry erase markers, pencils, and a sharpie or two.

Here's what I have on the walls so far.

Unfortunately, most of my photographs that I bought are languishing sadly in my drawer because I ran out of poster putty and Target was out (because that's what happens when you go to the Target right smack dab in the middle of five colleges) so I'll have to wait to get all of it hung up. Oh well.

What's the weather like for you all? Because here it is hot. And I mean hot. I'm sleeping under a top sheet, hence why my cool comforter (which you can see in my dorm last semester) is hiding in this picture.

My roommate is super awesome and brought a mini fridge which I promptly covered in magnet poetry, but these aren't ordinary magnet poems. These are VAMPIRE THEMED.

I'm a little bit committed to these magnets. They're great.

We also have a food shelf which isn't remarkable except for my cool plates from Party City. Not microwavable, but cool nonetheless. Skulls!

My half of the dresser has been pretty much decorated to my satisfaction. The little coffin box from my Michael's haul was colored with sharpie markers to make it red and black striped, and I think it makes a good companion for the first coffin box I ever decorated.

Thanks for touring my room, guys! Bonus: my convocation outfit!

My class color is blue, so I'm wearing my blue thrifted blouse, my blue book necklace, and a saltire (given to me by my Scottish classmates from first semester) worn as a cape.

Thanks for reading!

  2. I love all your wall decorations. I hate white walls and find putting up loads of pictures helps a lot. Also, I love your cute plushies on your bed!

    1. Thank you very much! I'm also very iffy about white walls, so this is doing nicely. :)

  3. Hahaha. Lords, I feel old. This makes me so nostalgic for my old college dorms which were... what? All of two years ago.

Still, I like how you decorated them. I could never find the right balance to infused my room with a sense of myself and it always ended up being... a dorm room.

    1. Thank you! I feel like mine is still very much a dorm room (maybe because when I sit on my bed I can see my roommate's pink things) but it's more of a comfortable place for me than an undecorated one.

  4. I gothed out my dorm room with an actual hanging candle chandelier. I can't believe I didn't get kicked out for that. All the candles...I actually did my homework by candlelight. And then, by the end of the semester, it was just clothes and books and papers everywhere, looking like another crappy dorm room. I love the posters you have!

    1. Thanks! Last year my posters kept falling down and my wall was balding big time, but this year I've doubled up the poster putty so hopefully that doesn't happen. I wish I were brave enough to use candles, that sounds wonderful!

  5. This is making feel so nostalgic! Also, kind of old. And sad that my dorm room was never that awesome. That said, you've inspired me to go home and actually hang up some of the pictures I have.

  7. I love all your skulls! I envy you people rarely live in dorms here. It seems only students from the far out country (outback) or foreigners live on campus, in my country. Because it is soo expensive. I always wanted to live in a dorm.

  8. How do you even afford to live on campus? How far away is your home from school?
