Autumnal Color
Boots
Over the summer (p)leather boots can seem especially uncomfortable, but when the temperature starts to drop and the crunchy leaves become ever more enticing, it's time to slap them back on! There are boots for every style, from Trad Goth to Gothic Lolita, and they make for a great addition to your outfits. If you're looking to Goth them up a bit more, treat them like an extension of your favorite leather DIY jacket and paint, pin, or otherwise decorate them to suit your needs.
Jackets
Speaking of jackets, why not go out and find one that you adore? It doesn't have to be leather, it can be any style. Of course, they do tend to be a bit expensive around this time of the year, but checking thrift stores and sales racks will generally give you a ton of options. I haven't been paying attention to this years trends but I think military was on the list 1-3 years ago so you'll be able to find that for discounted prices, probably.
Bookish
Maybe it's just the fact that I'm going back to school but I warm up to accessories that include books and other reading materials. So, when looking for accessories, try checking out necklaces that look like books, bubble jewelry that includes novel pages, a clutch or purse made out of an old hard-back book, or maybe hair accessories (like roses made out of book pages.)
Are you guys excited for autumn? How will you be adjusting your closets for the season, if at all?
Absolutely lovely outfits! I'm so excited for the Autumn season, it's been a real struggle trying to think of my Halloween costume lately, but I'm otherwise psyched! I'll definitely be thinking more about boots and ox blood this fall...
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! Halloween costumes are always difficult for me, hopefully your inspiration comes along soon enough!
DeleteThese outfits are awesome, Mary Rose! I'm in love with the jacket look you put together :). I can't wait to bust out my velvet jackets.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'd love to get some more velvet into my autumn wardrobe, it just screams cold weather, no?
DeleteThis fall I'm going to be on the hunt for a fuzzy black jacket. Something faux-fur and warm. ^_^
ReplyDeleteThat sounds absolutely lovely, I bet it will look great. :)
DeleteLovely banner of your post :) I just saw my own stripey tights :)
ReplyDeleteI will order more of those from Gudrun Sjödén. They are a little expensive but excellent quality. I got a hole at one toe but theres no run on the stocking :)
Mine are actually socks, and believe me I can't wait to pull them out and wear them again (when it's not 6,000,000,000 degrees here. Phew. :) I will check out Gudrun Sjödén, though. Always need sturdy tights.
DeleteThese outfits are awesome! You are so good at making Polyvore creations, I'm still learning. XD I also love the idea of mustard yellow with black, it sounds really classy. Alas, I don't really wear yellow though. XD
ReplyDeleteI started a new blog for my store, 8th Sin Creations and I'd really appreciate it if you could check it out! I blog about my handmade jewellery and accessories for alternative fashions, show new items I made and get people involved with choosing names for new product lines and more! http://8thsincreations.blogspot.co.uk
