Around Here (And Around the Net)

As you may have noticed, things have been slow around here post wise. The end of summer is swiftly approaching and with that came my birthday (on the 16th) and the start of back-to-school prep mayhem. Soon I'll be posting with my Goth Dorm 3.0 pictures, but for now it's going to be a bit slow. If you have a post idea you absolutely must have written (or are just mildly interested in), please send it to me on my Contact page. (Please.)

My cat Hermione.

But, until then, here are some tidbits about what's going on around here, and around some of my favorite websites:

  • New theme! I got a new theme going because the gray was getting a bit old. If you find things that aren't working, please send me a note! (Should I write a post about how I design my themes? Would anyone care?)
  • A reader, first name Lauren, wanted to ask me some questions but didn't leave an e-mail for me to contact. If you are that Lauren, leave me a note with your e-mail address and I can answer your questions.
  • Evil Supply Co. has begun pre-ordering for some great t-shirt designs. I ordered the Halloween one and can't wait for it.
  • My local grocery store has Halloween stuff out, so the season is coming!
  • My little sister got Monster High dolls for her birthday. It's been very exciting:

  • I've been listening to Welcome to Night Vale, which is a great free radio broadcast if you're into some supernatural and pretty creepy stuff.
  • My Pinterest board Goth Travel, which is filled with wicked cool places for Goths to visit, has started off with a bang and 170 followers. Come check it out?
  • GIY is offline! Noo! But this sneak peak of her latest project has really got me curious. What do you all think it is?
  • Lately I've been getting back into the Goth music groove, mostly listening to The Cure and Depeche Mode. Very relaxing.
  • My mom found a bunny skull while she was out and about and gave it to me. It's a real cutie, but is very brittle and needs a bit of TLC
My bunny skull.

  • If I asked nicely would one of you get me this necklace? ;)
  • I think I'm going to write a post about home decor trends I'm sick of, because if I see more things painted with chalkboard paint I'm going to close the tab and sip at my tea in an irritable fashion
  • But you know what I'm not sick of? Pencil skirts. I'm still obsessed with pencil skirts.
  • I love Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate series, but her blog is really where it's at. I need to build up an emergency kit like this one, I think.
  • I'm slowly practicing calligraphy, but unfortunately my handwriting is just too loopy for cool Gothic-y fonts. What's a girl to do?
  • On GoodReads I'm five books ahead of schedule on my yearly book challenge. Do you have any recommendations for me?

  • I'm currently in Richmond, VA visiting family, so if you respond to this post it might take me a while to answer. What have you all been up to lately?

    1. I'm loving the new theme and would definitely enjoy reading about how you make yours. I'm sure could borrow a few tricks for my own. :3

    2. Thumbs up for the new blog look. It's very sleek :3

    3. Hooray for Welcome to Night Vale!
